Easter Tradition in Wonderland

Yes! I know the real reason for Easter (insert chorus “He is Risen!”) and I know it’s not about flavored chocolates and white bunnies. However, a fashionista like me can’t help but get excited about pastel flavored fabrics and the innocence of pure white ruffles and silk. Maybe it’s because it brings back memories of my childhood Easters where I normally would’ve dreaded those things. So this Easter look is a homage to those things I use to hate the most but miss….pastel berets, giant, ruffled, silk socks that constantly fell down my ankle and white itchy, dress slips. 😊

My beautiful yellow, ombre pleated skirt was the start of my inspiration for this look. I knew that a simple white spaghetti strap top would be the only match to highlight it’s long and sophisticated feel. Adorned with a pastel flowered necklace not only tied in with my shoes and handbag but is my personal nod to those annoying tiny pastel berets that filled my hair as a girl where a necklace was not afforded. Finally comes the salute to the tulle, silk dress slip recognized as a long tulle and ruffled duster, perfectly white and perfectly innocent. Only this duster is definitely one to be worn over a dress and not under.😉

Surrounded by the green painted trees off of Memorial and Dunlavy here in Houston, TX, it made for the perfect wonderland in which this Easter outfit could be put on display. Aside from a few ant bites and endless shuffles from spot to spot to catch good light, I’d say this ensemble and photoshoot made for the perfect Easter look. A look fit for a girl whose grown up to appreciate the most peculiar of Easter traditional style and made it into one for the books…. or the blogs!

P.S. I was able to get my bluebonnet shots in too *eeek*
