A Bohemian Tribe

I believe most fashionistas would agree that while we find inspiration for style in the most various of things, our first and most impactful inspiration is usually our environment. Whether it’s climate, colors of the changing seasons, or textures of the earth, we find a joy in the art of being mother nature’s accessory. I was inspired for these looks by the most unusual of places, a small spot of land near a local community college about 15 minutes from my home.

This time of year is the perfect opportunity to catch warm and umber tones that inspired two looks that I like to call “the bohemian tribe.” In my first look, I must admit that the star of this ensemble was my beautiful deep merlot and green ombre, feathered necklace that was the perfect mate to paisley long sleeve dress. I felt the cognac colored suede belt, added the perfect amount of fierce that I wanted to embody with this tribal inspired look. In the second look, I likened my dress to a patterned sack cloth, however my favorite part of this tank dress was the embedded braid detail along the sides that added so much character. Pulled over a long sleeved khaki-colored turtleneck and paired with my wine colored boots,

I think I was feeling a bit in touch with the 70s. And I know what you’re thinking…a floppy hat would’ve gone great with this second look, but who wants to look like everyone else? I wore my khaki conductor hat with some bling to soften up the rough edges of my sackcloth dress and I must say I’m pleased with this look.
